Value Proposition:
At BLK Global we leveraged the power of the internet and the consolidated approach of e-commerce and applied it to the trading of commodities, raw materials and industrial supplies. Blkcommodities.com is an e-marketplace for materials, a simple, secure platform, allowing businesses to access directly the producers of raw materials. Easy to use system, containing all the tools small businesses need in one place: automated invoicing and PO generation, customisable reports to be used easily for bookkeeping, full order and RFQ management. SMEs can achieve competitive advantage by using the platform by leveraging their lower fixed costs and the open, transparent market to drive down their cost of sales as opposed to volume purchases.

Market Traction:

The commodity market reached $4.4tn, growing @4% pa. Increasing world population, new larger energy requirements, growing raw materials demand being the main drivers. There is a lack of access, especially for small businesses, to the producers of raw materials and market is still reliant on an archaic business model made up of physical trading desks and heavy in overheads. We use e-commerce to make it simple for businesses to buy the materials they need, directly from the producers. Over 99% of British businesses are small, with 75% of these being one-man companies. People are comfortable buying online and they will use an e-marketplace to source conveniently the materials they need– directly from the producers, at their actual spot price.
